這是按其用途定下的名稱，但它又可用于其它地方，甚至用來排水，排液體或作容器，這就不能叫它風管。按構造來命名，應管它叫螺旋咬縫薄壁管，由于主要用金屬做的又管它叫螺旋咬縫金屬管。如果按材料歸類命名，大概可有這幾個名：鍍鋅（鐵）螺旋管、不銹鋼螺旋管、鋁螺旋管，或為了區別于現有不銹鋼管，可管它叫超薄不銹鋼管，因它可用0.3毫米甚至更薄的不銹鋼帶卷制而成。
